Two more cars have been hit by vandals while parked in a city housing estate.

Danny Dawkins, 23, found out in the early hours of Monday morning that the driver's side window of his car had been smashed in while left overnight in Spring Lane, Canterbury.

The primary school sports coach, who had been staying with a friend a short walk away, now faces a £75 bill to get the damage to his grey Ford repaired.

"It's a lot of money for something you don't expect to happen. I was pretty angry," he said.

"I use my car for work every day. I can't use it now, until my insurance company can put in a temporary window in, so I've now got to get a lift to all of the schools I work in."

Police say another car in Spring Lane was also damaged by vandals overnight between Sunday, March 24 and Monday, March 25, and that a coat and handbag were stolen from the other vehicle.

"It's a real inconvenience. The people that are doing it have got to realise it's not funny," Mr Dawkins, who lives in Whitfield, Dover, continued.

A damning dossier compiled last November by university student Tia Chapman found that at least 25 vehicles have suffered similar criminal damage on the Spring Lane estate in just three months, with some residents having fallen victim multiple times.

Police confirmed they received two reports of criminal damage to cars in Spring Lane, Fordwich.

A spokesman said: "Windows of both vehicles parked in the street had been smashed overnight between Sunday 24 March and Monday 25 March 2019.

"A coat and handbag was reported stolen from one of the vehicles, which contained jewellery."
