Danny O'Reilly with his love message to girlfriend Aimee Whatmore
Valentine's Day gestures don't come much bigger than this one by big-hearted Danny O’Reilly.
The 25-year-old painted a 1,600 sq ft heart for girlfriend Aimee Whatmore on the Lakesview business park in Hersden.
Aimee, 25, is preparing to move to Wales to work on a holiday camp for seven months, so Danny thought he would give her the perfect send-off.
He said: "She really liked it and it was worth the effort. It took about two hours to draw the heart, which will have to stay until it fades.
"It was a bit of a different way to say what I felt about Aimee and that I would miss her."
The giant heart was a shock to Aimee Whatmore
Aimee was told to cover her eyes and taken up in a cherry picker outside the offices of Hi-Way Services, the Canterbury road marking company Danny, from Ramsgate, works for.
She said: "I was totally speechless when I saw the giant heart. How many girls can say they have received a gift like that?
"A lot of thought went it to it and, as I was just about to move away for a while for work, Danny made me feel incredibly special."
