Taking school journeys off the road was celebrated at a record-breaking event in Canterbury on Saturday.
The biggest KM walking bus in Kent marched from the city centre to the Dane John Gardens. It consisted of 243 children, beating last year’s record by two.
In the last year the 116 KM walking buses, which are run in partnership with the county council and Medway council, have taken 100,000 school run car journeys off Kent’s roads.
Children and parents from 20 walking buses attended Saturday’s record-breaking event.
