What a load of waffle! Read Bob's latest blog

Experiencing the Eurofair and getting a charity challenge - all in a week's work for kmfm breakfast show presenter Bob Mower, as he explains in his latest blog

My daughter, shopping in Canterbury on Saturday, was stopped by a couple of people from the foodie event going on in the Dane John Gardens over the weekend and was offered a piece of free cheese.

Now, according to her, she was told that this particular cheese was made from bear's milk!

Apparently the bears had been chained up and were being forced to dance for tourists in Spain and had subsequently been rescued by an animal charity and milked whilst asleep.

A very tall story but she did comment that you could smell this stuff from about 10 feet away and it tasted terrible.

It prompted me to go into Canterbury with my young son on Sunday to take in the sites and smells of the Continental market.

Ever since he saw the menu for a new pizza takeaway in Tankerton which includes waffles he's been on to me about buying him some, so when we came across a Belgian bloke selling pancakes and waffles on one of the stalls it was "Dad, dad . . . . ." We stood in the queue for about 20 minutes whilst he expertly cooked some pancakes for a family in front of us in the queue, then it was our turn.

"Waffle with whipped cream and chocolate please," I said. "Sorry," says the Belgian "Machine iz broke."

We walk off grumbling but my son's soon happy as he discovers ice cream that's made from 50 percent cream!

I discover the cider tent and I'm very happy, very quickly.

"I'll have a half of your weakest please." Weak! It nearly blew my head off. I was wobbling after two mouthfuls.

Talking of the Dane John, apparently the Lord Mayor has thrown down her very large gauntlets and chains and challenged me to raise more money than her for her own charity and the Kent Walk to School project.

We're both going to zoom down the zip wire off the top of the burial mound on Saturday, October 18. You can join us as well but must raise a minimum of £75.

Have a good week.
