A postman was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured skull after hitting his head on a brick wall during his afternoon round.
The 65-year-old was delivering letters in Grimshill Road at 1pm on Tuesday when he tripped over and banged his head on a garden wall.
Paramedics tended to the man at the scene before taking him to Medway Maritime Hospital for further treatment.
An air ambulance also landed at Whitstable Football Club, in Belmont Road, to help ambulance crews - but was stood down at the scene.
Royal Mail spokesman Val Bodden says the man, believed to be from Whitstable, was recovering from his injuries.
She said: "He was just delivering from one house to the next when he stumbled.
"He was taken to hospital by his manager and had a few stitches. He will be Ok."
Residents in Grimshill Road said they heard the helicopter circling above their houses, but did not see how the man suffered the injuries.
