Two women walked away from this car after it careered off a road into bushes outside Whitstable fire station today.
The car left Borstal Hill at about 2pm before landing in hedges, triggering the vehicle airbags.
Firefighters rushed from the station to help the women out of the car before they were taken to the station.
Police spokesman Jane Walker said the women suffered minor injuries and have been taken to a clinic by an ambulance crew.
Stunned handyman Roger Crook said he thought he heard a gunshot as the car narrowly missed his van.
He said: "It was unbelievable - at first I thought someone had shot a gun.
"I heard this crash, bang, wallop and when I looked up the car was on the kerb and heading into the hedge.
"It missed my van by about a foot so I feel lucky to be able to talk about it. I should go buy a lottery ticket."
