Winning three of the last six games should secure Ryman Division 1 South safety, according Whitstable Town boss Peter Nott.

Town are perilously close to the relegation zone after suffering a humiliating 6-0 defeat at the hands of Metropolitan Police at the Belmont last Sunday.

With just two points separating his side from the bottom two, Nott is demanding a much improved performance at Leatherhead on Saturday to aid Town’s survival hopes.

Nott said: "I hope Sunday’s defeat will serve as the kick up the backside we needed. It was shocking.

"I shouldn’t even need to give a team talk on Saturday as we have talked so much since the game. The players know what they have to do.

"It’s going to be tough but it isn’t an impossible task at Leatherhead. As far as I’m concerned we need to win three of our last six games to make sure we stay up. I’ve watched Leatherhead this week, they are a good side and have won their last four games."

Whitstable’s front line will be strengthened in the absence of the suspended Lloyd Blackman with the return of in-form striker Ian Pulman (pictured).

Gary Sayer and Dan Wisker are expected to miss the game through injury, while James Peacock is suspended.
