Justin Luchford says he wants his Whitstable team to implement his new footballing ‘vision’ in Ryman League, Division 1 South next season.

The Town boss has long been associated with direct football but says he hopes to implement a new style next season after a summer of arrivals including Ian Pulman and Micheal Everitt.

Luchford (pictured) admitted: "I am keen to freshen up our style of play and systems next year. I have a vision in mind – my perspective and outlook have changed through my experiences managing Faversham, Horsham and now Whitstable.

"I want to play more football – although some people were pleasantly surprised by the football we did play after arriving – but the most important thing for me is that we are adaptable.

"I want us to be able to make the most of the good pitches for the first couple of months of the season but I also want us to be able to do it when the pitches get wet and boggy.

"I want players who can play. I want quick players in the right areas, I want tall players in certain positions. It’s getting the blend and mix right, I don’t want us to be a one-trick pony."

"I’ve been working hard to get players in place who can play the way I want."

Luchford remains keen to tie-up the signing of goalkeeper Rob French from Faversham and has agreed terms with striker Richard Sinden for a player/coach position. Shane Hamshare has agreed to return to the club after problems with a visa scuppered his bid to move to the US.
