Detectives investigating reports that a bird of prey was being illegally sold made an unexpected cannabis seizure too.
Officers responded to an advert for the sale of a sparrowhawk - an offence under wildlife protection law - and raided a property in Vauxhall Avenue, Canterbury.
While there they discovered six cannabis plants growing in the back garden.
A police spokesman said the drugs had been cut and seized while the investigation into the sparrowhawk continues.
The sale of sparrowhawks is prohibited under the Control of Trade in Endangered Species Regulations 1997.
