A woman exposed herself and urinated in the street after a shoplifting spree at Marks and Spencer.

Michelle Tate, 45, was arrested after stealing clothes worth £346 from the Canterbury store - and then relieved herself in front of stunned shoppers at 11.30am.

She has now narrowly avoided prison after admitting outraging public decency and shoplifting in St George’s Street on April 26.

Folkestone magistrates jailed her for eight weeks but suspended the sentence for a year.

She was also ordered to pay £170 costs and a £230 victim surcharge.
