Jason O'Reilly is feeling flush after winning a trip to Las Vegas to play in a top poker tournament.
The 47-year-old dad from Canterbury earned his place at the table after trumping a nationwide poker pub league.
He won the regional final of the pub poker tournament Vegas100 and will join 100 finalists from around the UK who qualified for an all-expenses trip to the glitzy capital of gambling.
Jason, of Querns Road, who is contracts manager for an asbestos removal firm, now has chance to win a slice of a £25,000 prize fund and be crowned UK Pub Poker Champion.
"I'm not one of those who really studies the game and obviously there's a bit of luck involved in getting the right cards," said the contracts manager who plays in the Redtooth Poker League every week at the Cross Keys in Canterbury.
"But there's also a bit of skill and bluffing, and I've done that a few times to win a hand.
"In the past, I've had a bit of luck in a few sports-related competitions and won things like cup final tickets.
"But I've never been to Vegas, so it is going to be quite exciting. To come home with some prize money would be the icing on the cake though."
Avid Liverpool fan Jason will be taking his wife Louise on the trip and they also plan to visit San Francisco.
"The only downside is that I'll miss the Champions League final," he said.
This year the VEGAS100 players and guests will have the opportunity to take part in an additional tournament with over $6,000 worth of prizes which includes a return trip to Las Vegas and a place in the World Series of Poker event in 2019.
