Canterbury: Fire in tumble dryer leaves boy needing oxygen

A young boy needed oxygen after a fire started in a tumble dryer this morning.

Emergency crews were alerted shortly after 7am and raced to the address in Ash Road, Aylesham.

The boy - thought to be aged about eight - was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

An ambulance was also called to the scene, but the youngster was not taken to hospital.

The fire had been put out by the time crews arrived on the scene.
