Young girl seriously hurt in road collision

A 10-year-old girl was seriously injured when she was in collision with a car in a Kent city.

The girl suffered serious head, chest and leg injuries when she collided with a silver Toyota Yaris on Military Road, Canterbury, at about 7.30pm on Wednesday.

She was taken to QEQM Hospital in Margate, but was transferred to Kings Hospital in London on Thursday.

The road was closed until just after 11pm.
