Young woman in street attack ordeal

POLICE are appealing for information after a 23-year-old woman was the victim of a late-night street attack.

A man gabbed the woman’s coat from behind in Castle Street at Canterbury and punched her in the face. He then attempted to pull her into nearby Gas Street.

Police say the victim screamed and the offender ran off down Castle Street.

The offender is described as a white man, around 6ft tall and wearing a light green jacket.

The incident happened on Friday, January 13. Anyone who can assist with the investigation is asked to contact PC Ian Hodges on 01227 762055.
