After agreeing to extend his contract at Kent, coach Jimmy Adams says fans have seen a glimpse of the club’s future, and insists ‘the sky is the limit’ for his current crop.

A week after nine players put pen to paper on new deals at Canterbury, Adams revealed he too is extending his three-year stay with the club

Adams revealed: “The club offered me an extension earlier in the season - before we started on that 50-over run - and I was more than happy to accept.

“I have enjoyed it. It’s been a fantastic journey this season. I’m very happy. I do think we saw a possibly glimpse into what Kent’s future will look like this year. Hopefully we can keep growing as a group over the next few years.”

He added: “I think the sky’s the limit for the young players and by extension the team we have.

“It’s not going to happen overnight but the signs are very healthy and very selfishly I’d like to be a part of that process.”

Adams also revealed he is desperate for skipper Rob Key to remain as his captain next season. For more from Adams see KM papers on Thursday and Friday.
