CANTERBURY maintained their grip on third place in National League 3 South after a convincing 34-7 win against North Walsham.

They ran in five tries against the struggling North Norfolk side at Merton Lane on Saturday but failed to turn their superiority into points with a number of unforced errors near the line leaving the home crowd somewhat frustrated.

Two tries from Blair Morris and one each from Jamie Forsyth, Mike Melford and a try, three conversions and a penalty from Gert De Kock secured the win.

They stay third but remain level on points with Ealing, who enjoyed a big win over Lydney, while London Scottish lost ground losing 12-11 at Havant to fall four points behind in fifth.

Mounts Bay and Cinderford are batttling it out at the top of the table with three games remaining.
