Canterbury run in seven tries to see off Chinnor

Mike Melford who opened the scoring at Chinnor

Canterbury recorded their biggest win of the season after securing a 53-19 victory over Chinnor in National 3 South on Saturday.

The visitors started brightly and opened the scoring after just four minutes when Mike Melford went over for a try. Gert De Kock added the extras.

De Kock then converted a penalty before Cristoff Blom went over for the second try.

The home side pulled a try back through Chris Mahony which James Cathcart converted.

De Kock then struck his second penalty before centre Pat Sykes went over for Canterbury's third try.

Chris Hinkins then went over to make the score 32-7 at half-time.

In the second half, Canterbury continued where they left off with tries from Luke Harding, Melford and De Kock taking them over the 50 point mark.
