Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League Premier Division wrap

Blackheath moved five points clear at the top of the Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League Premier Division after a seven-wicket win at Canterbury on Saturday.

The home side were all-out for 136 with only Graeme Francis (32), Stuart Drakeley (33) and James Lilley (22) offering much resistance.

James Hands and Chris Willetts both took 3-23.

Tanweer Sikander (74) led the run chase as Blackheath replied with 140-3 in the 30th over.

The defeat means Canterbury are now second last with three rounds to go.

Sevenoaks Vine slipped to second behind Blackheath after losing to visitors Lordswood by four wickets.

Opener Oliver Durell top-scored with 61 as his side made 198 with former England and Kent paceman Amjad Khan taking 5-41.

Khan then starred with the bat scoring 60 not out as his side made 200-6 in reply.

Third-placed Hartley’s hopes of winning the title for a fourth consecutive year were dealt a blow after a three-wicket defeat against Beckenham.

Hartley were dismissed for only 99 before the home side replied with 102-7 in the 32nd over.

Shanon Fattore top-scored with 27 for Hartley.

Sandwich moved out of the relegation zone after beating bottom side Bickley Park by six wickets.

Matthew Hunn (5-35) and Daniel Evans (4-34) shared nine wickets as Bickley Park were bowled out for 79.

Aussie Marnus Labuschagne then scored 50 as Sandwich made 84-4.

In the other game of the round, Bexley beat Bromley by five wickets in a game reduced to 45 overs a side.

Kent representative Adam Ball took 6-16 as Bromley were dismissed for 102.

Matthew Stiddard then hit an unbeaten 34 to guide Bexley home.
