Carvill-Clark through to British Championships

Lucy Carvill-Clark and her horse Blackstuff Zarin have qualified for national finals

YOUNG horse rider Lucy Carvill-Clark has qualified for the British Showjumping Association’s Amateur Championships.

Lucy, from Sturry, will compete in the 90cm and 1-metre class at the Arena UK, Grantham, Lincolnshire, between Thursday, November 29 and Tuesday, December 2.

The 16-year-old Chaucer Technology School pupil earned her place after successfully coming through two Kent qualifiers.

Lucy had to finish in the top six at Limes Farm, Hawkinge and came fourth and then went to Duckhurst Farm, Staplehurst, where she had to make the top 10 and finished ninth.
