Kent skipper Joe Denly starred with the bat and ball to see his side to victory against Glamorgan in the Royal London One-Day Cup.

Denly took four wickets with the ball and then struck a century with the bat to give the Spitfires a four wicket win at The Spitfire Ground St Lawrence.

Glamorgan posted Kent a target of 275 after batting first and the runs were chased down with 11 balls to spare.

Head coach Matt Walker made one change to the Kent side and brought in Sean Dickson in place of Imran Qayyum.

A second wicket partnership of 102 between Nick Selman (92) and Shaun Marsh (45), before the latter was caught by Matt Henry in spectacular fashion, put Glamorgan in a strong position halfway through their innings.

Marsh was one of four Joe Denly wickets in the innings and he finished up on 4-56.

The skipper then picked up the key wickets of Colin Ingram and David Lloyd to put Glamorgan on the back foot.

Wickets then fell quickly in the latter stages as Kent restricted the visitors to 274.

Claydon picked up three wickets but went for 73 runs. Matt Henry (2-50) and Calum Haggett (1-45) also chipped in with wickets.

There was also some late runs for Glamorgan’s Graham Wagg who was the last man out for 49 in an innings that included two sixes.

Ruaidhri Smith took the wickets of Daniel Bell-Drummond (4) and Zak Crawley (24) early on to leave Kent 44-2.

Denly and Kuhn built a solid partnership before the latter was run out by Wagg for 22.

The Kent skipper and Alex Blake put on a superb 88-run partnership for the fifth wicket to put the home side in a strong position before the latter was out for 44.

Denly brought up his century, the first by a Kent batsman in a competitive game, in style with a six off the bowling of Salter.

He saw his team home with a fantastic unbeaten 150 off 143 balls, beating his previous best List A score of 115.
