Canterbury Hockey Club enjoyed a glorious afternoon of double success against Surbiton at Polo Farm on Saturday.
Canterbury Ladies went joint-top of Investec National Premier Division after coming from behind to beat the Surrey side 2-1.
Vicky Bryant put the visitors ahead after just five minutes under floodlights at Polo Farm but player-coach Jen Wilson restored parity on 20 minutes with her first goal of the season and first since a lengthy spell on the sidelines battling back problems.
US import Kim Young snatched the winner 16 minutes into the second-half as the city club moved level on points with leaders Reading, who came from behind to draw 1-1 at Clifton.
Earlier Liam Foster fired a hat-trick as Canterbury crushed old foes Surbiton 5-1 in the first game of the double-header.
The city club rose to fifth in the NOW Pensions National Premier Division table after making an uncustomary quick start with Foster putting them ahead after just eight minutes at Polo Farm.
Andrew Sutherland added a crucial second from a penalty corner three minutes later and the city club held that lead until midway through the second-half when Foster grabbed his second.
Isaac O’Connor made it 4-0 just before the hour and Foster completed his treble after 66 minutes, with Matt Daly claiming a consolation for the visitors from a late penalty corner.
