Midfielder Danny Keyte’s work-rate epitomises what Canterbury City’s new-look management team wants from their side, according to joint-boss Chris Woollcott.
Former Ramsgate and Whitstable man Keyte has returned to City and started in Saturday’s 4-0 loss at Glebe in the Southern Counties East League.
Canterbury’s team, managed by Woollcott and Josh Hall, showed eight changes from the side which had lost against Deal the previous weekend as the club continues the rebuilding process after the departure of Clive Cook and the entire playing squad last month.
“We are trying to get a bit of experience into the spine,” Woollcott said.
“Danny has played a lot of games at this level and in the Isthmian League. His work-rate is phenomenal.
“That epitomises what we are looking for. The midfield is getting there, to be fair.
“We just want to get a little bit of experience.”

Adam Woollcott, the brother of Chris, has also joined City on a dual-registration basis from Sittingbourne.
With City not having scored since the new bosses took charge, Woollcott is keen to see his side get off the mark.
He said: “We need a goal, we do need a goal.
"But I feel, with some of the players, once they get that first goal, they will start knocking them in.”
City, 11th, are at home to Bearsted on Saturday before hosting Tunbridge Wells in the Challenge Cup on Wednesday.
