Olympic Gold medallist Susannah Townsend joined in the fun at Canterbury Hockey Club last weekend.

The club’s Back to Hockey sessions continue to grow in popularity and Townsend was on hand to lend her support.

Before the sessions started, she warmed up the goalkeepers, Back to Hockey coach Stu Mears and his daughter Lara, with both benefiting immensely from her patient coaching skills.

When play was under way, 14 enthusiastic hockey players took part in a fun and competitive sessions which lasted over an hour with plenty of goals scored.

At the end of the session they worked on penalty flicks and the difficult skill of a drag flick.
