CHAIRMAN: Phil Knight

CANTERBURY City Football Club have received a welcome boost with news they have been awarded a Football Foundation grant of £9,000 over the next three years to support the community work that the club have initiated.

Club chairman Phil Knight said the money would be earmarked towards community projects.

He said: "The club are keen to develop both a girls' set-up and provide constructive football coaching for those with special needs. The grant will allow us to accelerate these plans."
