Kent have reactivated the loan of Middlesex fast bowler James Harris to help make up for the loss of Wayne Parnell.
The South African quick has been recalled to his homeland this week to meet up with the Proteas ahead of their upcoming Champions Trophy campaign in England and made his final appearance in Sunday’s 46-run win over Middlesex at Canterbury.
Harris was on duty for his parent club that day - though he didn’t play - after being recalled ahead of Kent’s clash with Sussex on Friday as cover after Middlesex were depleted by international call-ups.
The 26-year-old originally joined on a two-month loan at the start of the season and that deal resumed on Tuesday, meaning he has another month left at Kent, though he can again be recalled at any time.
Along with Harris, Adam Ball and Charlie Hartley are also recalled to the squad for Wednesday’s Royal London One-Day Cup game against Gloucestershire at Bristol as Mitch Claydon is unavailable following a family bereavement.
Sam Billings is not in the squad, despite opting not to return to play for the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL this week, ahead of meeting up with the England squad next week.
The wicket-keeper batsman could however feature for Kent in Friday night’s clash with Surrey at the Oval and, depending on results, could even travel to Swansea for the clash with Glamorgan on Sunday.
Spitfires squad v Gloucestershire: Sam Northeast, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Joe Denly, Alex Blake, Sean Dickson, Darren Stevens, Adam Ball, Adam Rouse, Calum Haggett, Matt Coles, James Harris, James Tredwell, Charlie Hartley.
