Calum Haggett hopes Kent’s partnership with charity Cardiac Risk in the Young will raise awareness and prevent deaths.
The 27-year-old was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition after a routines screening in 2010 - issues that were corrected with surgery.
CRY are Kent’s charity partners for 2018 and they will be raising money at The County Ground in Beckenham during their matches with Surrey and Gloucestershire on Friday and Sunday respectively.
Haggett said: “CRY is a great charity and hopefully it will save lives by raising awareness. I know they are running a scheme to see as many children in Kent who play cricket.
“It takes about five minutes to have a scan and it saved my life. That charity means a lot and working with Kent is brilliant and hopefully it raises awareness with people that it’s there and hopefully there will be less deaths because of it.”
Kent have named a 13-man squad for their match with Surrey on Friday following three wins in a row in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Former Kent player Morne Morkel has recovered from injury and could make his Surrey debut while Mark Stoneman is also in contention after being dropped by England.

Sam Curran is not available after being called up to the Test squad for the second match in the series against Pakistan.
Haggett said: “Surrey are rivals and it would be good to turn them over and keep this run going. They are a good side and if we keep doing what we do hopefully we will come out on top.”
Kent squad: Bell-Drummond, Denly, Kuhn, Dickson, Billings, Blake, Stevens, Haggett, Rouse, Henry, Podmore, Claydon, Qayyum.
Surrey squad: Burns, Batty, Borthwick, Clarke, Curran, Dernback, Foakes, Jacks, Morkel, Pillans, Pope, Roy, Stoneman, van den Bergh
