Hockey men set for big switch-on

CANTERBURY Hockey Club stage what is thought to be the first English National League game to be played under floodlights on Saturday.

They take on Loughborough Students in the Premier Division at their headquarters at Polo Farm, Littlebourne Road, from 5.30pm.

Having halted a poor run with two successive wins to distance themselves from the relegation fight, Canterbury could move into contention for an end of season play-off place if they could beat the side three points ahead of them in the table.

Their squad will be strengthened by the return of Kwan Browne and Kulraj Liddar, who both missed last weekend's 3-2 win at St Albans, where Canterbury came from behind with two late goals. Admission is free, and there is limited free parking.
