Lydden Hill will host an array of motorsport machinery this weekend when its annual Truck Festival returns.
The event, which will take place over Saturday and Sunday, is one of the venue’s most popular and will see a powerful field of 100mph racing trucks tackling the UK’s shortest circuit.
The five-tonne trucks won’t be alone, though, as a full programme of championships will fill the Lydden paddock over both days.
The Intermarque series for specialist ‘silhouette’ cars always produces close racing, which will be joined on Saturday by the competitive Tin Top and Sevenesque championships.
Local interest in the Quaife Motorsport News saloon car series is strong with several racers set to take part.
Ashford’s Bill Richards will be aiming for a strong result, as will Canterbury’s Tony Skelton and Andy Banham from Sellindge on Sunday.
Oval racers will also be on show as Lydden’s rarely-used 600-metre circular track is put into action.
Reliant Robins are sure to entertain along with the flame-spitting CAMSO V8 Late Models series and a full supporting class.
To accompany the on-track action, a variety activities will take place off it.
Organised by Sittingbourne rallycross racer Darren Scott, a dedicated show truck display is set to take over the circuit’s former camping field throughout the weekend.
Admission is £12 for adults on Saturday, £20 on Sunday, with under-12s going free both days.
