Brendan Nash has left Kent County Cricket Club by mutual consent.

The former West Indies batsman made only four LV= County Championship Division 2 appearances this summer, averaging 28.62, with a top score of 49 from his eight innings.

The 37-year-old joined the county in 2012 and his best season came the following year, scoring five centuries including 199 not out against Gloucestershire.

Nash told the club website: “I would like to thank Kent County Cricket Club for giving me my first opportunity to play county cricket.

“It's been a great three-and-a-bit seasons for me personally. I would like to thank the cricket club members, supporters and staff for being so welcoming to me and my family and I hope I have been able to give something back not just on the cricketing field.

“I leave Kent knowing I have given my all and helped the club’s image grow and the players develop both on and off the field."

Meanwhile Nash's replacement, Sean Dickson, is in the frame to make his Kent debut after being named in the 13-man championship squad for the match at Derbyshire which starts on Friday.

The South African has impressed in the Kent 2nd XI and missed out on his First Class debut on Wednesday when the Royal London One-Day Cup clash at Warwickshire was rained off.
