The 26-year-old paceman has established himself as a key part of Kent's red-ball team since joining the club from Middlesex two years ago.

Podmore said: "I feel that Kent is the right place for me to continue my development with an amazing group of hungry, talented players putting Kent back on the map - as we look to lift some silverware and make history.

"The opportunity for me to grow not only as a player but as a man has been unbelievable and I have seized the opportunity with both hands."

Podmore has taken 118 wickets at 23.62 in 33 first-class matches for Kent, and he was awarded his county cap in 2019.

Kent director of cricket Paul Downton said: "We’re delighted that Harry has committed to the county for the next three seasons.

"He has fitted in extremely well since he joined us at Kent and is now a highly skilled bowler who has become a consistent wicket-taker in Championship cricket.

"He has also shown his abilities as a lower-order batsman, scoring some vital runs in tight games.

"With hard work we believe Harry will continue to improve and will take further strides towards fulfilling his stated ambition of becoming a Kent legend."
