Kent have signed spinner Ollie Rayner on loan from Middlesex for eight Specsavers County Championship matches.
The 33-year-old will be available to feature in the side's Division 1 clash with Nottinghamshire at Tunbridge Wells commencing Monday June 17.
Rayner arrives with a first-class bowling average of 33.9, along with 303 wickets and a current best of 8-46 dating back to a meeting with Surrey in 2013.
The German-born off break bowler began his career with Sussex in 2006, hitting a century on his first-class debut in a tour match against Sri Lanka.
He eventually joined Middlesex on an initial loan at the beginning of the 2011 campaign before registering 11 wickets and 266 runs in eight County Championship outings, earning himself a permanent deal in October later that year.
Rayner went on to play a starring role in helping Middlesex to Division 1 title glory in 2016 when he contributed 51 wickets at an average of 23.57.
Kent director of cricket Paul Downton said: “We are really pleased to be able to bring in someone of Ollie’s experience to strengthen our squad as we move towards the second half of the Championship season.
“As a front-line spinner, excellent slip fielder and a useful late order batsman he will significantly add to our young group of players.
“His performances for Middlesex, and when he has been called upon for England Lions duty in the past, show that he is a talented player and will boost our spin-bowling options.”
Rayner marks Kent's second signing this week behind South African fast bowler Hardus Viljoen, who will feature in this summer's T20 Vitality Blast.
