All-rounder Darren Stevens starred with bat and ball as Kent Spitfires completed the double over Surrey in the NatWest T20 Blast South Group after winning Friday night's clash at the Kia Oval by 54 runs.

Stevens smashed a career-best T20 90 off 38 balls, including five sixes and 10 fours, as Kent posted 231-7.

He then took 4-39 off his four overs as Surrey were dismissed for 177 as Kent wrapped up a second consecutive win following Thursday night's six-wicket defeat of Essex at Canterbury.

The win sees Kent replace Hampshire on top after their seven-wicket loss against Sussex.

Mitch Claydon finished with 3-16 while Ivan Thomas (1-44) and Matt Coles (1-32) were the other bowlers to strike.

Opener Tom Curran was the other wicket to fall, run-out by Joe Denly for 41.

Gary Wilson top-scored with 55 before Stevens had him caught by Claydon.

Zafar Ansari (33) and Ben Foakes (10) were the only other Surrey players to reach double figures.

Earlier, Kent lost a wicket in the first over for the second consecutive night after Denly (6) was bowled by Ansari (2-22).

Daniel Bell-Drummond (38) and captain Sam Northeast (32) steadied the ship with a 57-run partnership before Northeast was caught and bowled by Ansari.

Fabian Cowdrey (21) kept the runs flowing before he became Tim Linley's (4-45) first victim of the night before Bell-Drummond departed 17 runs later with the score on 111.

Stevens then took the attack to Surrey, adding 109 with Alex Blake (27).
