CANTERBURY Hockey Club have been handed a tough draw in the fifth round of the English Hockey Association Cup.
They must travel to play Premier Division rivals Cannock, who won 5-2 at Canterbury in the league last week.
Defender Michael Farrar made an impressive first start for the side as Canterbury won 5-0 at Ipswich in the fourth round on Sunday.
However, it was not until the stroke of half-time that Canterbury took the lead, with Sam Bury scoring from a powerful penalty corner flick and perhaps answering coach Grant Edwards’ problem of who use on these set pieces in future.
The second half saw Canterbury again squander too many chances but a goal apiece from the Jones brothers, Zak and Huw, and two from skipper Danny Laslett, saw Canterbury through. The next round is on February 2.
