Organisers of the KM Big Quiz are hoping for another record-breaking year as it returns to Canterbury.
The popular fundraiser – which has heats across the county – will once-again be held at the University of Kent’s sports hall on Friday, April 21.
The KM Charity Team runs the quiz and predicts more than 40 teams will be battling out to be crowned the Canterbury champions.
This year it will support the League of Friends at Kent and Canterbury Hospital, the children’s literacy and road safety services of the KM Charity Team, as well as the Gazette’s charity of the Year, Motor Neurone Disease Association East Kent.
Clive Hudson, of the MNDA, said: “Funds raised on the night will be used to support people living with MND across east Kent and some of it may also be used for research for a cure to this dreadful disease.”
Barclays bank will match funds raised on the night from the raffle and charity bar guaranteeing big money for the Kentish Gazette’s charity of the Year, Motor Neurone Disease Association East Kent, as well as children’s literacy projects in the district.
Staff from Barclays will also be serving the drinks at the charity bar whose stock has been donated by Faversham-based brewery Shepherd Neame.
As well as testing their general knowledge skills and having fun with friends and colleagues, quizzers will enjoy table wine and a selection of nibbles, as well as the opportunity to win some fantastic individual prizes throughout the night.
Tables of eight are priced at £65, with a £10 discount using the booking code CANT17 at www.kmcharityteam.co.uk/challenge/bigquiz/
