“Good riddance to October,” summed up the thoughts of Faversham Town boss Ray Turner this week after a disappointing month for the club.

Exits from four cup competitions and two Ryman League, Division 1 South defeats proved bad enough but things hit a real low with news that midfielder Michael Jenner suffered a broken fibula in the 2-1 loss at Burgess Hill last Wednesday.

Turner said: “Michael has been operated on. He had a steel plate inserted and faces 12 weeks in plaster.

"He is a self-employed roofer by trade and everyone at the club will try and look after him.

"The players have rallied around by donating money and collections will be made among supporters at this week’s game against Guernsey and Folkestone Invicta the following weekend.

“October has been a horrible month for us, we have travelled hundreds of miles and got nothing.”
