Kent hope Marcus Stoinis will be fit to play for their final Vitality Blast group stages match.

The Australian all-rounder injured his hamstring in the Gloucestershire match and missed the game with Middlesex on Sunday.

Head coach Matt Walker believes he will play some part in the match at home to Somerset on Thursday and the trip to Essex on Friday.

Walker said: “The hamstring was a twinge so it’s nothing too major.

“He’s really keen to play but equally hamstrings are tricky things that you don’t want to push if they aren’t quite right.

“What Thursday looks like for him I don’t know. It’s looking promising for him maybe as a batter and then maybe for Friday he can take full part.

It’s day by day to see how that hamstring is pulling through.

“He’s here until the end of the competition, including the final, so it will be nice if we can get there and he will be raring to go for that.

“We don’t want to chance it but equally if we can get him in the side it will be great.”
