Kent assistant coach Matt Walker sees no reason his side can’t maintain the winning start to their NatWest T20 Blast South Group campaign when they head to Lord’s to play Middlesex on Thursday.
The Spitfires are in second place ahead of the clash after beating Sussex and Hampshire.
Walker said: “We’ve played some outstanding and exciting cricket and got two cracking wins as a result.
“It’s only early days but we’ve given ourselves a great opportunity to really progress in this competition.
“We are in a good place right now – winning games does that for you.”
But what is the key to Kent’s success in this format of the game?
Walker said: “We believe in ourselves and we’ve got some good players throughout the squad who are proving they can mix it with the best.
“We might not have any overseas stars but what we have are exciting players who we back to the hilt and who can produce performances of the highest quality.
“Look at Alex Blake for an example. His match-winning innings against Hampshire last Friday was world class. It was phenomenal and you would struggle to see any ‘star’ play as well as that.
“Anything is possible from anyone in our side – we’ve got match-winners throughout.
“I believe that in David Griffiths we have the best bowler at the death in the country – in my opinion, that is.”
