An Australian bowling all-rounder is set to be available for Kent Spitfires’ final six Vitality T20 Blast South group fixtures.
Tom Rogers, 30, has played 49 T20 matches in his career so far, taking 60 wickets at 24.78.
He has seven years of experience playing in Australia’s Premier domestic T20 competition - the KFC Big Bash League - featuring for Hobart Hurricane and Melbourne Renegades. His current T20 best figures of 5-16 coming in January 2023 against the Melbourne Stars.
Bowling right-arm medium-fast pace and batting left-handed, Rogers has a batting strike-rate of more than 100.00 and a bowling strike-rate of 17.73.
Rogers will be available for Kent Spitfires’ next T20 match at Gloucestershire tomorrow, subject to regulatory approval.
He said: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to play in the Vitality Blast and I’m excited to be joining Kent.
“We know that every game is vital for us now and I want to do my part in getting results as a Spitfire in the near future.”
Director of cricket Simon Cook added: “We’re pleased to have got Tom on board to sure-up our bowling options going into the ‘business end’ of this South group stage.
“He has a lot of experience and has skills that will be useful to us with both the ball and the bat, too.”
Other overseas players Kent have already used this summer include fellow Australian bowlers Xavier Bartlett, Charlie Stobo and Wes Agar, as well as South African all-rounder Beyers Swanepoel.
