Grace Balsdon is desperate for Canterbury Ladies to maintain their winning start to the Investec National Premier Division but is wary of the threat posed by Saturday’s opponents Beeston.
The city club made it four wins from four with a 4-0 success against Sutton Coldfield at Polo Farm last Saturday and have still only conceded one goal ahead of their trip to Nottingham on Saturday lunchtime.
Fledgling captain Balsdon is delighted with the start, adding: “It’s satisfying to be top of the league and we have to be pleased with the results so far.”
Beeston are seventh with three losses in four games but Balsdon said: “We know they are going to be compact, keep players behind the ball and try to play on the counter-attack.
“Hopefully, with the way we play and the speed we have in the team, we will be able to break them down. We are solid at the back too, as we have seen in the past couple of games.”
