Canterbury retained their Kent indoor 6-a-side title with a 26-run win over Betteshanger in the finals on Sunday.
After being put into bat, Paul Steer and Ryan Minter reached 32 in the fifth over. Steer (17) then ran himself out and three balls later Minter was removed by Mike McNicholas.
Simon Smith was then run out in the next over before Ben Cooper helped steady the ship. But Jamie Towe then produced a peach of an over to bowl Cooper (17) and trap Rob Marsh leg before.
Only seven runs were scored off the final four overs as Canterbury posted a total of 63-6.
Betteshanger’s reply started badly when Cooper (1-8) picked up the wicket of Martin Cheeseman in the third over and Ryan Minter bowled Towe in the fourth with the score on 15-2.
Tight bowling from Minter (1-9) and Marsh (1-10) meant Betteshanger were bowled out for 37 after 8.2 overs.
Earlier in the tournament, Canterbury beat Dartford and Bexley in the semi-finals and quarter-finals respectively.
