Canterbury disappointing in defeat

Canterbury 0 Ealing 22

A POOR second half display condemned Canterbury to their first home league defeat of the season in National League Three South, beaten 22-0 by Ealing at Merton Lane on Saturday.

Four tries did the damage after their worst performance for many months. They were second best in most departments of the game, after a scoreless first half, but two tries in as many minutes put Ealing in the driving seat.

The London club missed two other opportunities to increase their advantage, and also a penalty, before Canterbury's Andy Pratt (twice) and Michael Melford went close.

However, two more tries completed a thoroughly deserved win for the visitors and sees Canterbury drop to fourth in the table.
