Canterbury missed out on a second successive National League 2 South victory as bottom club Dings Crusaders came from 14 points down with eight minutes to snatch a 36-36 draw with the last kick of the game in Bristol.
Martyn Beaumont scored two tries in a game which ebbed one way and then the other, with Canterbury, 17-0 down after only 20 minutes, before producing a stirring second half revival, only for two late home tries to take the shine of the comeback.
Mason Rosvall and Beaumont started the comeback, Ollie Best converting the second to reduce the deficit to five points.
Two more scores by Dan Smart and young flanker Ryan Ward, his first for the club, put Canterbury ahead for the first time, only for Dings to score again.
Canterbury responded well with Best and Beaumont adding two more tries, the former converting the latter's score, and put the visitors on course for victory.
However Dings refused to lie down, added a fourth try, before completing an unlikely last ditch comeback.
