CANTERBURY Boxing Club have again been handed the honour of staging the Southern Counties open championships.

The event, last held in the city a couple of years ago, will take place at the Prince of Wales Youth Club, Military Road, on Saturday, March 29.

Canterbury will play host to the quarter and semi-finals giving local fight fans the chance to see some of the area’s best boxers in action as the bid for a place in the fnals at Dover the following month.

Tickets prices are yet to be confirmed but are expected to be around £10.

Canterbury’s annual dinner show will take place at Rutherford College, at the University of Kent, on Friday April 25.
