Clifton 10 Canterbury 30
CANTERBURY Rugby Club gained their second successive away win, and bonus point, with a 30-10 victory over Clifton in Bristol on Saturday.
Their sixth win in 10 games consolidated their position in the top half of the National 3 South table.
Canterbury's pack was dominant and, when half-time arrived with the teams level at 10-10 it was down to Canterbury's generosity. Mike Melford and Pat Sykes scored the visitors' tries.
It was the third quarter which saw Canterbury rewarded for their superiority.
Rowan O'Gorman scored in the 45th minute as the Clifton scrum split apart and then Wolmarans, who was off target with all his conversion attempts, slotted a simple penalty.
Second tries for Melford and Sykes, which was excellently converted by David Dorton, completed the scoring.
