SPRINT hurdler Allan Scott is coming to Canterbury on Sunday to help some of Kent most promising young hurdlers.
The event has been arranged to enable to the Kent County Hurdle’s squad to gain some tips from one of the rising stars of the British athletics.
The morning session at Canterbury High School track will include a coaching session, demonstrations from Scott and a question and answer session with the young athletes.
The session has been arranged by Kent County Hurdles squad coach June Plews and Kent Partnership athletics development officer Peter Le Rossignol.
Plews said: “This is a great way to inspire the young athletes to continue in the sport and to aim for the top.
"With a young role model like Allan to look up to, I hope it will show them what they could achieve in the future"
Le Rossignol added: "I have been working with the Kent County Athletics Association over the last couple of years to develop the county squad structure and it is great to have Allan come along and share his experience with the young athletes."
Scott made the breakthrough into the top international class in the 2005 indoor season.
Going into the seaosn he had a personal best of 7.74 secs for the 60m hurdles, but he started with 7.71 in Glasgow, won the Scottish title with 7.65 and then ran 7.63 and 7.66 in Budapest and 7.67 and 7.66 in Bratislava.
