CANTERBURY Boxing Club’s James Chiericato won a national schoolboy title at Wandsworth.

He made the long journey to south London worthwhile, comfortably outpointing his Surrey opponent Phillip Smith.

Last year Chiericato, who attends the Community College, Whitstable, fought his way through to the All England finals but lost in the final stages to a skilled boxer from Kettering.
