Canterbury boss Clive Cook has added to his squad with the signing of Sid Sollis.
The striker arrives from Hythe after 10 league appearances while on loan from Margate during the second half of last season.
Cook is also in talks with another potential recruit, with Renford Tenford having left the club.
“I’ve brought in Sid Sollis from Hythe, I’m also speaking to another lad and hopefully I’ll get that over the line,” said Cook.
“Renford went out the door, he wasn’t getting a lot of football. He’s a good lad and it was the right thing to do.
“Sid is another who on his day is a very good striker. He needs to come in and work hard in training, gel with the boys and get his sharpness up.”
Cook has urged his players to remain patient after Saturday’s 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Isthmian South Central South Park.
City were denied an obvious goal when Matt Day’s effort crossed the line, only for the referee and linesman to wave play on.
Cook said: “It was in by a foot, the net rippled, we turned away to celebrate and the ref carried on. That was unbelievable.
“The linesman said he didn’t see it. That’s football.
“It’s about being patient. It’s only a few games into the season. Every game we play we’re getting a lot stronger.”
On Saturday City return to Southern Counties East League Premier Division action at home to Fisher after Monday’s 0-0 draw at Deal.
Cook added: "It's a tough league to get out of and every team is good enough, some come to spoil the party and some come to play, I think they (Fisher) will come to play.
"On our day and if we're firing and believing we should have too much."
