Canterbury Women 28 Beccehamians 5
CANTERBURY'S second game of the season was the usual keenly-contested affair between these teams.
Beccehamians fared better in the first 10 minutes as strong rucking mixed with straight running from the backs led to an early score.
The city side's forwards began rucking with greater force and as spaces opened up in midfield centre Jo Gleeson made a break to score under the posts. Full back Laura Day converted.
They followed that with a searing run down the wing by Katie Curtis just before half-time, and another conversion from Day.
In the second half Canterbury were in the ascendancy and Curtis scored a second try before a weaving run from wing Aimee Miller saw her score her first try for the club.
Both scores were converted by Day to round off a convincing win.
