Kent opener Zak Crawley has been recalled to the England squad for next month's tour of Pakistan.
The 26-year-old missed the recent series against Sri Lanka after fracturing his finger at Edgbaston against the West Indies in July.
However, the ECB have stated that Crawley has made "significant progress in his recovery to earn selection".
Crawley has played 47 Tests for England, scoring four hundreds with an average of 32.23.
Dan Lawrence, who replaced Crawley in the team against Sri Lanka, has not been included after scoring just 120 runs in six innings.
England captain Ben Stokes is also included as he continues his recovery from a hamstring tear that kept him out against Sri Lanka.
Former Kent batsman Jordan Cox, who is yet to make his England Test debut, is also included in the 17-man squad along with uncapped Durham seamer Brydon Carse.
Durham seamer Brydon Carse and Essex batter Jordan Cox are the only uncapped players included in the squad.
Somerset's Jack Leach and Leicestershire leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed add to the spin options alongside Shoaib Bashir.
The venues for the three-match series are yet to be confirmed, with an announcement expected from the Pakistan Cricket Board later this week.
