Kent's three-day first-class match against Loughborough University MCCU ended in a draw on Tuesday after poor weather brought play to a premature halt at The Spitfire Ground.

Sean Dickson had produced a first-innings knock of 108 as the hosts declared on 247-8, before Loughborough responded to reach 248-9 by the end of day two.

Matt Walker's side finished the third day on 149-1 following Zak Crawley's 87 and an unbeaten 55 from stand-in captain Daniel Bell-Drummond.

Dickson proved the unrivalled positive for Kent on day one as he hit 15 fours on his way towards an unbeaten century from 207 balls.

His best support came in the form of Bell-Drummond's 40 at no.3, with Adam Rouse (no.4), Alex Blake (no.5) and Darren Stevens (no.6) contributing just one run between them.

Alex Evans and William Pereira emerged as familiar thorns in Kent's batting lineup, picking up three wickets each and conceding a combined tally of just 110 runs from 19 overs apiece.

Louis Kimber (62) and Adam Tillcock (60) spearheaded Loughborough in their innings before falling at 146-3 and 192-4, respectively.

Kent's Harry Podmore finished with bowling figures of 2-64 and nine maidens from 26 overs, while Stevens registered 2-23 and eight maidens from his 19.

Matt Milnes, who signed from Nottinghamshire in September, ended with 3-95 from 21.4 and there were also two wickets for Bell-Drummond in his seven overs.

The home side ended the match on a more convincing note, although did lose Dickson to injury at the beginning of their second innings after he had faced just five balls.

Crawley proceeded to hit 14 fours on his way to 87 from 127 balls, receiving support from Bell-Drummond's seven fours on route to 55.

Having been disruptive all afternoon, the rain eventually had its way as play was stopped.

Kent are scheduled to get their Division 1 County Championship season underway at Somerset on Friday April 5.
